African Bush Camps to receive a fleet of six new Game viewing cruisers

Following our commitment to continually improving on our guest experience, African Bush Camps have invested in six new safari vehicles. The new Game viewing cruisers will be fully fitted to provide the most comfortable game drives for guests staying in our camps. Following the same format of our current vehicles, the new open land cruisers will accommodate nine passengers on tiered seating so that views are not blocked and photographic opportunities are enhanced. Each of our vehicles are fitted with permanent canvas roofing to protect you from the varying weather elements, whilst still allowing an optimised up close and personal experience of wildlife. Guests who have booked a private vehicle can request for the roofing to be removed in advance of their safari. Three vehicles will be allocated to our camps in Zimbabwe and three vehicles will be allocated to our camps in Botswana.

The Armchair Safari

Never before has the concept of an “Armchair Safari” come more true to life than at Kanga Camp in Mana Pools Zimbabwe. Based inland of the Zambezi River, Kanga Camp is built around the Kanga Pan which is the only known water source in the area year round for a 10km radius. As a result, during the dryer months of the year, wildlife fluctuates to the pan in front of camp to drink from the cool waters it beholds. Guests this season have already been enjoying the African Bush Camps concept of the “Armchair Safari” as larger herds of elephant as well as buffalo, kudu, impala and bushbuck come down to the Pan to drink at staggered periods throughout the day, whilst the evenings are spent enjoying occasional sightings of the more elusive predators such as lion, leopard and hyena. This Dry Season, there is no need to spend hours on a vehicle searching for wildlife. At Kanga Camp guests simply sit on the Deck overlooking the Kanga Pan, feet up, relaxing and enjoying a Gin & Tonic whilst enjoying up close encounters of Africa’s most beautiful wildlife and birdlife species.
